A little over 3 years ago, the Manual Back Gauge RPS-500/2 was redesigned and after seeing its success in markets such as the United States and Canada, a version was made with the counter in inches so that customers in these two countries could also buy it. Originally and the best-selling version is the one with the counter in millimeters.
WHY IS A MANUAL BACK GAUGE SO SUCCESSFUL?
This is the question we asked ourselves when we started seeing its sales. As we could see, there are still many press brakes in the world without any type of gauge for the metal sheet, this implies a waste of time, since it can rarely affect the bended parts. Therefore it is a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY and also avoids many mistakes at the time of bending, that is to say, it radically increases the precision in bent metal parts.
But above all what makes it a success are its main characteristics;
– EASY INSTALLATION
Installation is very easy, you just have to mount it on the press brake table, adjust the measures with an Allen screw next to the counter and get to work. In less than 5 minutes we have the gauge assembled and ready to produce.
– RESISTANT AND ROBUST GAUGE
The manufacture of this gauge is made with the best materials and it is conceived to be a very robust gauge and can last A LIFETIME in extreme working conditions. Each arm weighs about 35 Kg.
– STROKE OF 500 m/m
500 m / m stroke, with manual movement by hand wheel and decimal vernier (with version in millimeters or inches). With an excellent quality rolled spindle, guided by two robust bars and provided with a bronze counter-nut to ensure perfect operation, precision and quality of movement.
– TWO BACK GAUGES FOR EACH ARM
Provided with two gauges for each arm (with a center-to-center between them of 220 m m), which are folding and adjustable in height. The advantage of having two gauges on each arm is that it allows us to mount a single arm on press brakes of 2 meters or less and have two reference points on the same arm. For longer lengths we recommend the installation of two arms in order to increase the reference points over the entire length of the press brake.

By having two gauges on each arm, it also gives us the possibility of installing a rod that the customer can manufacture and attach to the same arm (the gauges are supplied with an M10 threaded hole in its two gauges) or buy the aluminium bar of 750 m/m length that METALMAQ sells as a KIT, with its screws and washers included.
