METALMAQ manufactures 10 meters of special punches, with a total height of 660m/m, to fold HARDOX 450 of high resistance and 6m/m of thickness, to an important manufacturer of the sector of material for quarries, located in the central area from Spain.
THE DIFFICULTY OF THE PIECE
Our customer manufactures excavation and earth moving machinery and has a DURMA metal sheet press brake of 2000 Ton and 10 meters length in its facilities. He makes us the inquiry to be able to realize some pieces in “U” of big dimensions, with the difficulty that they must be realized in HARDOX 450 of high resistance and in thickness of 6m/m.
SOLUTION ADOPTED BY METALMAQ
Our Technical Office designs the punches in lengths of 1.000m/m, with a height of 660m/m and with special tie according our customer’s specifications. In the punches a central threaded hole has been made to mount rings and thus handle them better with the crane, increasing the ease and safety in changing punches. They have also been manufactured at 70 °, to counteract the elastic return of the HARDOX. The punches have been manufactured in steel 42CrMo4 tempered by induction in their contact areas with the sheet and rectified, with a radius of 10m/m, which guarantees a long working life for them.
RESULT
The result was the shipment of 3 pallets with special punches, each punch of 1.000m/m length has a weight of 280 Kg and due to its weight a central hole has been installed in each one to be able to lift them and move them more easily and with more security. In total 2.800Kg of punches to be able to make the desired pieces.
