New Promecam-Beyeler die holder, the latest addition to METALMAQ’s catalogue of standard press brake tooling.

THE DEMAND

Some time ago we had several enquiries from customers who needed to change from the Promecam anchoring and even from the multi-vee anchoring to a Bystronic style, wila, Trumpf system, Beyeler type die anchoring or the like with the same measurements, and the METALMAQ team decided to incorporate it into its catalogue of standard tools, as until now it had been manufactured, but on request.

Putting it in your standard production catalogue lowers the cost of sale, speeds up delivery and generally improves the quality of service that we so wish to preserve.

Sketch of the die holder mod. 8060

The drawing above shows the NEW mod. 8060 die holder, which is supplied in 1,000 m/m sections. It has external dimensions of 60 x 30 m/m, provided with a 20 x 13 m/m housing for Beyeler-Bystronic-wilaTrumpf type dies among others and provided with Allen screws on one side, so that once the die is in place, it can be tightened and fixed.

This especially is very important for the small sections of the split dies, as it prevents them from moving during the bending operation.

In the photos above you can see the qualities of our tools, the Allen screws on the side and the central housing for the Beyeler-Bystronic-wilaTrumpf dies. The mod. 8060 die holder is made of C-50 steel and ground.

WHY DO CUSTOMERS ADOPT THESE SOLUTIONS?

The vast majority of workshops have several press brakes in their facilities. They started years ago with a more “basic” press brake model and little by little, as technology advanced and their needs for more accurately bent sheet metal increased, they changed press brakes, acquiring more modern, faster models, with more technology and equipped with other types of tools.

The result of all these changes can be seen every day in our customers’ installations, where they have several types of press brakes, from several different eras and with them several types of anchoring, which creates a great deal of confusion and is not very practical when buying tools, because each press brake needs a particular type of tooling, for example: the AJIAL anchoring (typical of AJIAL and AXIAL press brakes), the Promecam anchoring (one of the most common and widely used on the market, used in its day by MEBUSA and today by the new DENER, ERMAKSAN, DURMA, BAYCAL, RICO, etc. press brakes), the SPEED anchoring (used above all by the Trumpf, LVD, etc. press brakes), the Beyeler or wila type anchoring (used by Beyeler, Bystronic, the new AXIAL, etc. press brakes) and then less common anchoring systems such as the old HACO or CASANOVA types. This quantity of existing anchorings on the market makes customers want to “standardise” the press brakes they own, so the NEW mod. 8060 die holder can help our customers in this task.

THE CONCLUSION

The conclusion is very simple: METALMAQ, in its eagerness to help in the world of press brakes, standardises a die holder that can be of great help in homogenising the world of press brake tooling.
