New multi V-shaped die: We have once again added a newly created multi V-shaped die to our extensive catalogue of press brake tools and accessories.
THE STORY
Since METALMAQ was founded in 1985, we have manufactured several models of multi V-shaped dies.
This type of die is a classic in press brakes and among those that had it as standard equipment, there were brands such as AJIAL, CASANOVA, HACO, LOIRE, ERMAKSAN, and lately many imported Chinese press brakes that are arriving to our market and are equipped with this type of multi V-shaped die.
The main reason for using this type of die is that in one piece you have several V shapes with different sizes and angles. It is, therefore, more cost-effective, as one piece has several V shapes and can bend many different thicknesses.
As you know, depending on the thickness of the sheet, you have to use the appropriate V-shaped die and thus bend the different sheet thicknesses perfectly. You can see how it works in the following BENDING TABLE.
THE MARKET PROBLEM
In October 2024, we launched 3 models of multi V-shaped dies in cooperation with a large Chinese tool manufacturer (renowned for its quality). The reception on the market was very good and sales started, as the prices can be up to 50% cheaper than similar dies from other manufacturers.
Due to the success of these dies and because the market demanded it, we have decided to add a fourth model of this type of die.
THE NEW MODEL
DIE 20.10.627E
This is a very large die, with a 130 x 130 square section, 8 V shapes with a size of 10 to 100 m/m at 85°, and one V shape with a size of 14 m/m at 35°.
It is manufactured in segments measuring 3.100 and 4.100 m/m in length. And it is made of 42CrMo4 steel, induction hardened in the working areas (52-58 HRC hardness) and ground.
To get an idea of the size of this die, you only have to look at its weight: at 3 metres it weighs 300 kg and at 4 metres it weighs 400 kg.
A COMPLETE RANGE
We now have a very complete range with this fourth die that we manufacture. And the other dies are as follows:
DIE 1319E
This is the smallest die in the range, with a 54 x 54 square section, 7 V shapes with a size of 6 to 32 m/m at 88°, and 2 V shapes with a size of 6 and 12 m/m at 30°.
It is manufactured in segments measuring 1.020, 2.100, and 3.100 m/m in length. And it is made of 42CrMo4 steel, induction hardened in the working areas (52-58 HRC hardness) and ground.
DIE 1318E
This is the medium sized die and one of the best sellers, with a 74 x 74 square section, 8 V shapes with a size of 8 to 45 m/m at 85°, and 1 V shape with a size of 12 m/m at 30°.
It is manufactured in segments measuring 3.100, and 4.100 m/m in length. And it is made of 42CrMo4 steel, induction hardened in the working areas (52-58 HRC hardness) and ground.
DIE 20.10.626E
This is the largest die of this series that we manufacture, with a 90 x 90 square section, 6 V shapes with a size of 10 to 70 m/m at 85°, and one V shape with a size of 14 m/m at 35°.
It is manufactured in segments measuring 3.100 and 4.100 m/m in length. And it is made of 42CrMo4 steel, induction hardened in the working areas (52-58 HRC hardness) and ground.
THE CONCLUSION
The conclusion is that after seeing the huge demand that we have awakened with these dies, METALMAQ wants to incorporate a fourth model in order to make our offer more complete and to give an optimal service to our customers.
