New multi V-shaped dies is the latest addition to our extensive catalogue of press brake tools and accessories.
THE STORY
Since the beginning of our activity as a manufacturer of press brake tooling, we have produced various models of multi-purpose dies.
This type of die was often supplied on press brakes with a “free table”, i.e. the tables on which the dies were incorporated were wide and they were only fastened to it by means of four screws or fasteners in the corners of said table. Among the press brakes that use this type of die are the AJIAL, CASANOVA, HACO, LOIRE, ERMAKSAN and, as of late, many imported Chinese press brakes that are arriving on our market.
The reason for using this type of die is that in a single part, there can be several V shapes with different measurements and angles. Therefore, with a single die purchase, you can bend many different thicknesses, since depending on the thickness of the sheet the suitable “V-shaped” die (see BENDING TABLE).
THE MARKET PROBLEM
The problem we have had with this type of dies is that since the beginning of the war in Ukraine (year 2022), materials have become much more expensive. Some have returned to their original prices or are close to it, but long steels (those used to manufacture the standard 2-, 3- and 4-metre multi V-shaped parts) have remained at high prices.
Seeing this reality and that many customers who use this type of die do not want to change die systems, METALMAQ started to look for partners and different solutions. After a long search we found a well-known Chinese tool manufacturer and started a successful relationship.
Therefore, and in order to give our customers another much more cost-effective option, we have put three types of dies on the market with METALMAQ quality, but at about 50% less than standard prices.
THE RANGE
We have started by manufacturing three die models, the ones most commonly used in this type of multi V-shaped die system;
DIE 1319
This is the smallest die in the range, with a 54 x 54 square and 7 V shapes, from 6 to 32 m/m at 88º, and with 2 V shapes of 6 and 12 m/m at 30º.

It is manufactured in 1,020, 2,100 and 3,100 m/m lengths and produced using 42CrMo4 steel, induction hardened in the working areas (52-58 HRC hardness) and ground.
DIE 1318
This is a medium-sized die and one of the best sellers, with a 74 x 74 square and 8 V shapes, from 8 to 45 m/m at 85º and with 1 V shape of 12 m/m at 30º.

It is manufactured in 1,020, 3,100 and 4,100 m/m lengths and produced in 42CrMo4 steel, induction hardened in the working areas (52-58 HRC hardness) and ground.
DIE 20.10.626
This is the largest die of this series that we manufacture, with a 90 x 90 square and 6 V shapes, from 10 to 70 m/m at 85º and with a V shape of 14 m/m at 35º.

It is manufactured in 3,100 and 4,100 m/m lengths. It is produced in 42CrMo4 steel, induction hardened in the working areas (52-58 HRC hardness) and ground.
All three models are supplied (as can be seen in the pictures) with a threaded hole at each end of the die. This is used to fit a threaded screw which, with the help of a chain attached to the press brake beam, can be used to raise the die, and turn it upside down to change the V shape and bend other thicknesses in the press brake.
THE CONCLUSION
The bottom line is that METALMAQ takes nothing for granted and we always look for the most suitable solutions for the market and therefore for our customers.
